Tata Motors to borrow from public to fund JLR buy (Business Standard India)

Struggling to finance its $2.3 billion purchase of Jaguar and Land Rover (JLR), home-grown auto major Tata Motors is looking to borrow from public, offering up to 11 per cent annual interest for a period of up to three years.

BANGALORE: At the beginning of the year it seemed Indian conglomerate Tata Group was on a dream run, first unveiling the world’s cheapest car and then buying the Jaguar and Land Rover brands from Ford Motor Co for US$2.3 billion.

2010 Jaguar XF-R spotted nearly finished (AutoSpies.com)

Last time we saw the XF-R was back in August, when it was spotted in Death Valley. Looks like Jaguar is giving the car its final touch as it has very little camouflage. We can clearly see that the car gets hood air vents, changed grille, larger air intakes and quad exhaust pipes.

Dec. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Tata Motors Ltd. , the maker of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles, will borrow from the public for the first time in 13 years as the credit crunch limits its ability to refinance loans used to acquire the luxury brands in June.
